Born and raised at Conrad, Mt. I have farmed, ranched and painted most of my life. In High school I did posters and other illustrations for activities. After I graduated, I painted signs around Conrad, and really started doing paintings in the 70’s. Did a lot of art shows around the area for years, and won a few awards, by sending paintings to juried shows around the country. In 1976, I began painting cowboy hats for the JC’s and continue to do this for Their National Conventions. I have been doing an annual painting for the All–Around Cowboy at our Whoop-Up Days Rodeo for about 35 years. I also became a signature member of The Montana Watercolor Society. I have entered paintings in, and won Awards, at the State Fair in Great Falls, MT for over 25 years. I have been a member of the Western Heritage Artists for over 25 years and continue to do that show. I have won awards in painting in the WHA show. My main interests in painting, are historical and western scenes. I like to do paintings that depict an historical place or event. A few years ago I switched to doing more acrylic paintings instead of watercolors and enjoy the challenge of working with this medium
